Amplifying the Voices of Impact Investing in Asia-Pacific – Podcast Launch & Community Discussion
You voted for thisInterested in communicating the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of impact investing to finance professionals as well as the community at large? So are we!
Frontier Brokers is an initiative of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s innovationXchange (DFAT iXc), which supports social enterprises to scale their development impact in Asia-Pacific. It brings together a network of 7 firms from across the globe with specialised expertise in impact investing. The ‘Brokers’ are implementing projects with distinct investment mechanisms to stimulate capital reaching social enterprises. All projects incorporate a ‘gender lens’, to promote gender equity through their investment decisions.
As part of a special collaboration project, the Broker organisations are working together to create a Storytelling Platform for the social entrepreneurs of Asia-Pacific. The Platform will be anchored around a podcast series, but will also share information through blogging, infographics and videos, featuring the underrepresented perspectives of the entrepreneurs themselves. It will disseminate information about impact investing activities, opportunities and challenges, with a special focus on following the fundraising journey of social enterprises and how this journey can shape enterprise resilience in the face of crisis.
The session will begin with a short animated video created by Frontier Brokers to introduce gender lens investing – this will be made available as a free resource for all to use. The Brokers will then host a facilitated community-building event to share the resources gathered in the Storytelling Platform and elaborate on the value they have found in amplifying the voices of the Asia-Pacific impact investing ecosystem. We invite participants to share how this discussion resonates with their experiences and contribute suggestions for future expansion of the Platform (including guest spots on the next podcast season!)
