This session is for entrepreneurs, health care professionals, leaders, and those who want to be leaders!

Whether we want to have better health, excel in our businesses, start a business of our own, or improve personal and professional relationships, it’s never easy to do. We have dreams about what we want our lives and our world to look like and if they were put into action, we would be amazing people and the world would be a better place. However, a lot of the time, we never fully do what it takes to turn those dreams into achievable goals. We get upset and want change, but we don’t create all of the change we want. Sometimes it’s because we feel that we have a lack of control over the situation we are in and even deeper than that, I believe that we fear achieving success just as we fear failure.

My name is Christina Martin. I am a pro dancer, fitness trainer, founder and executive director of a non-profit organization, and I live every day with Type 1 diabetes. Last year, I became the first female with Type 1 diabetes to compete on NBC’s TV show, American Ninja Warrior. I’m excited to bring a session that will create a healthy dialogue about hard and soft skills we can implement right now as individuals to push through struggles we are facing and apply them personally and professionally to really create lasting change in our communities. With everything going on in our world right now from COVID-19 to the Black Lives Matter movement, now is the time to talk about how to live a life truly worth fighting for!

For medical professionals, this session can also be used as a window into learning how to improve patient care for those who live with diabetes. We have our own struggles and feelings of being alone that are more common than realized or ever talked about.

Christina Martin: Audition Tape for American Ninja Warrior

Bio: As someone who loves dancing and tackling ninja obstacles, Christina Martin is ready for it all in the name of diabetes support! She is a professional dancer, fitness trainer for kids and adults, and founder of a Central Florida non-profit organization for diabetes that she started as a teenager, Type Zero Foundation. Christina dances with nationally-winning hip hop crew, TheSQUAD, and has competed against the rest of the world while living with type 1 diabetes (T1D). She was invited on Season 11 of NBC’s TV show, “American Ninja Warrior,” as the first female with T1D on the show! While also studying sport and exercise science as a full-time student at the University of Central Florida, her goal is to help individuals and families feel stronger with diabetes. Through Christina’s determination to live a healthy lifestyle with T1D, she is now a motivational speaker, advocate for the diabetes community, and wants to help each of us learn to live an exceptional life worth fighting for.
